Uzbekistan Airways Enhances Fleet With A320NEO

Uzbekistan Airways has welcomed the addition of another A320neo aircraft, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s expansion efforts. The arrival of the new aircraft, which occurred today, April 20, at Tashkent’s Islam Karimov International Airport, signifies Uzbekistan’s flag carrier’s commitment to modernizing and enhancing its operational capabilities.

This latest A320neo, designated as the airline’s 23rd Airbus narrowbody, underscores Uzbekistan Airways‘ dedication to meeting the growing demands of its passengers while maintaining operational efficiency. Furthermore, the airline has announced plans to further augment its fleet with the imminent arrival of another A320neo in the coming weeks.

The newly acquired aircraft, manufactured in 2019 and bearing the serial number MSN 9132, is registered as UK32040 and has been secured under a long-term lease agreement with BOC Aviation. Powered by LEAP-1A engines, the aircraft boasts a two-class configuration, comprising eight seats in the business class cabin and 162 seats in economy, a layout inherited from its previous operator, Vietnam’s Bamboo Airways.

Commenting on the strategic acquisition, Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board at Uzbekistan Airways, emphasized the airline’s commitment to maintaining its leadership position in the region. He highlighted Uzbekistan Airways’ dedication to expanding its flight network, introducing new destinations, and prioritizing passenger comfort and safety.

Khudaykulov stated, “Uzbekistan Airways strives to maintain leadership in the region through a wide geography of flights, launching new destinations and providing a high level of comfort and safety on the airline’s flights. Sufficient number of aircraft in the fleet will allow us to provide more travel choices for Uzbekistani people and tourists to visit our country in comfort.”

In 2023, Uzbekistan Airways served a commendable 5.021 million passengers, a testament to its growing prominence and commitment to delivering exceptional air travel experiences.

As Uzbekistan Airways continues to expand its fleet and enhance its services, passengers can expect an even greater array of travel options and enhanced connectivity, solidifying the airline’s position as a premier carrier in the region.
