This historic flight marks the initiation of Etihad’s A380 double-decker service to New York, featuring The Residence, a renowned three-room suite, and heralding a distinguished flying experience.
After a ceremonious departure from Abu Dhabi, the arrival of the A380 in New York was met with enthusiasm, with Etihad pilots proudly displaying both the US and UAE flags from the cockpit.
Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed his enthusiasm about introducing the A380 experience to New York, underscoring the airline’s commitment to providing exceptional onboard experiences. Neves affirmed, “Whether traveling in Economy, Business, First Class, or our luxurious three-room suite, The Residence, passengers can anticipate unparalleled service from our esteemed crew.”
Etihad strategically timed the launch of the A380 service to coincide with the bustling summer travel season and cater to the corporate travel sector. This achievement aligns with Etihad’s overarching strategy to meet growing customer demands and expand its network, following the recent inauguration of a new route to Boston. Etihad’s A380 service to New York comprises two daily flights, with one operated by the A380 and the other by a 787-9 aircraft, offering a range of cabins including First, Business, and Economy.
