In a bid to enhance the proficiency and competencies of civil aviation professionals in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, Türkiye’s Cappadocia University has initiated collaborative efforts with aviation institutions from both nations.
Azerbaijan’s National Aviation Academy (NAA), integral to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), recently formalized a memorandum of cooperation with Cappadocia University. This strategic alliance aims to meet the demand for skilled specialists within Azerbaijan’s aerospace sector, particularly at AZAL. Under this partnership, Cappadocia University will offer comprehensive training programs for Category A1 aircraft maintenance technicians, tailored to meet international standards.
Cappadocia University’s credibility in aviation training is highlighted by its possession of an SHY-147 Approved Training Organization certificate, issued by Türkiye’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), signifying its commitment to excellence in aviation education.
The collaboration with NAA reinforces AZAL’s commitment to fostering a workforce that aligns with international standards in civil aviation, thus propelling the advancement of the nation’s aviation sector.
In a parallel development, Turkmenistan has established educational collaborations with Türkiye to bolster its aviation capabilities. During a high-level meeting between leaders of Turkmenistan and Türkiye in March, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Turkmenistan Airlines and the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association. While specific details of the agreement remain undisclosed, it is evident that the memorandum aligns with Turkmenistan’s national objectives aimed at modernizing its transportation infrastructure, including the aviation sector.
This memorandum underscores Türkiye’s dedication to supporting the modernization endeavors of its regional counterparts, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise in critical sectors such as aviation. As Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan embark on ambitious initiatives to fortify their aviation capabilities, partnerships with Türkiye’s esteemed educational institutions are poised to play a pivotal role in achieving these aspirations.
