Embraer Celebrates Historic Milestone: 1800th E-Jet Delivered to Royal Jordanian Airlines

Embraer, a prominent player in the aerospace industry, has attained a significant milestone with the delivery of its 1800th E-Jet production aircraft. Today, at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil, the brand-new E190-E2, owned by Azorra, was ceremoniously handed over to Royal Jordanian Airlines, marking a monumental event for both entities.

This latest delivery underscores Embraer’s prominent position in the small narrowbody aircraft market. Royal Jordanian Airlines, already operating four first-generation E-Jets, welcomed its third E2 aircraft today. As part of the existing agreement, the airline is slated to receive a total of eight E2s, reaffirming its dedication to modernization and expansion.

The E-Jets program has garnered widespread success worldwide, with 90 airlines and leasing companies from over 60 countries incorporating these advanced aircraft into their fleets since the program’s inception in 2004. The E190-E2, a member of Embraer’s next-generation E-Jets family, is renowned for its exceptional performance, offering unmatched levels of efficiency, environmental sustainability, and passenger comfort in the under 150-seat market segment.

Samer Majali, Vice Chairman and CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines, expressed his delight at participating in this significant milestone, emphasizing the enduring partnership between Royal Jordanian and Embraer. He underscored the strategic significance of the E2 family in supporting the airline’s vision for regional connectivity and growth, as well as its role in fleet modernization endeavors.

John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to partake in this milestone event, highlighting the promising future of the E2 aircraft and its compelling advantages in efficiency, passenger experience, and economic viability.

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, attributed the enduring success of the E-Jets program to Embraer’s steadfast commitment to excellence and innovation. He lauded the collaborative efforts of Embraer, Royal Jordanian Airlines, and Azorra in achieving this milestone, stressing the continual enhancements made to elevate the aircraft’s performance, reduce operating costs, and integrate new technologies.

Meijer also unveiled forthcoming performance enhancements for the E2 later this year, further solidifying its position as a frontrunner in fuel efficiency, emissions reduction, noise mitigation, reliability, and passenger comfort. The E2 has demonstrated its readiness to operate on 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), aligning with industry endeavors to foster sustainability in aviation.

The delivery of the 1800th E-Jet to Royal Jordanian Airlines marks a momentous occasion for Embraer, reaffirming its standing as a trailblazer in the small narrowbody aircraft segment and laying the groundwork for sustained success and innovation in the aviation realm.
