Qatar Airways has made a significant stride in bolstering global connectivity with the announcement of direct flights from Doha International Airport (DOH) to N’Djili International Airport (FIH) in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This latest addition to its route network not only aims to enhance the frequency and capacity of flights to Luanda International Airport (LAD) in Angola but also signifies a strategic move to expand the airline’s presence in Africa, bringing the total number of destinations served on the continent by Qatar Airways to an impressive 29.
Set to commence operations in June 2024, the new route will be operated by Qatar Airways’ fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, equipped with 22 business class seats and 232 economy class seats. Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the significance of adding Kinshasa to their network, highlighting the airline’s commitment to improving connectivity across Africa.
Antinori stated, “The inclusion of Kinshasa in our network is the latest manifestation of our efforts to improve connectivity to Africa. Qatar Airways has showcased its commitment to the region by providing passengers in Africa with greater choice to explore different corners of the world through our network and our hub in Doha, Hamad International Airport.” This strategic expansion underscores Qatar Airways’ dedication to facilitating seamless travel experiences and fostering global mobility. The airline’s continued efforts to expand its network and enhance connectivity position it as a key player in the global aviation landscape.
