Yusuf Rashed Mohammed Aljavder has been appointed as the new chairman of the board of Astana Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, succeeding Yergazy Zholdasov. This appointment was finalized in agreement with the Office of the Government of Kazakhstan.
Astana Airport announced that Yusuf Aljavder brings over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry to his new role. He has held various positions in Emirates Airline, British Airways, as well as in Dubai and Abu Dhabi international airports.
The capital’s airport was placed under the trust management of Terminals Holding (UAE) in November 2023. Plans are underway, utilizing private investments, to commence repairs on the airport’s runway, which has not undergone modernization for over two decades, starting from May 2024.
The new management company is tasked with crafting a comprehensive long-term business strategy for the airport’s advancement.
Terminals Holding Group caters to clients in emerging markets across Asia and Africa and is affiliated with the prominent port and industrial entity, Abu Dhabi Ports. In Central Asia, the company is actively engaged in the renovation of Navoi Airport in Uzbekistan.
