Etihad Cargo Introduces a new service to Boston, Strengthening presence in the United States
Etihad Cargo has launched a new route to Boston, Massachusetts, marking its fourth destination within the United States. The inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi successfully arrived in Boston on March 31, with plans for four weekly flights utilizing a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, effectively increasing cargo capacity by 50 tons per week.
Stanislas Brun, Vice President of Cargo at Etihad Cargo, emphasized the strategic significance of the Boston route, particularly in enhancing the region’s export economy. He highlighted Boston’s role as a vital hub for food, pharmaceuticals, and innovation. The new service is geared towards optimizing the global distribution of perishables such as seafood and medical products, thereby strengthening trade ties between the US and UAE.
Etihad Cargo’s US network, with a primary focus on transporting perishables, medical instruments, pharmaceuticals, and aircraft parts, already comprises double daily flights to JFK Airport in New York, daily services to Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Washington, D.C. (IAD), and a weekly freighter service to Chicago, totaling 33 flights per week.
Furthermore, Etihad Cargo has expanded its partnership with Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) to include all carrier stations across the US, thus enhancing operational efficiency throughout the region.
